About

Dr. Irene Teo started her career upon graduating from Royal Free and University College London in 2005, with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. In 2013, she obtained her postgraduate qualification with Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (UK). By 2016, she would earn her certification as a Specialist in Paediatrics Medicine from the Specialist Accreditation Board, before attaining a Fellowship with the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.


Dr. Teo’s expertise is in general paediatrics, which includes newborn and well-baby screening, childhood immunisation, developmental assessment and behavioural care advice, nutrition and growth advice, as well as the management of common childhood conditions. She has a special interest in paediatric dermatology, and has spoken at the paediatric dermatology workshop at KKH, held in 2017.


Beyond her practice, Dr. Teo is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education, and has contributed to furthering the field of paediatrics. She was a Paediatric Medicine Clinical Tutor for undergraduates between 2013 and 2016, and was appointed the Physician Faculty Member by SingHealth to develop the SingHealth Residency Programme. Under her charge, it became a centre of excellence for postgraduate medical education and specialty training. Previously, she was also a Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Paediatrics, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at National University of Singapore.


Dr. Teo currently practises at SOG – Clinic for Children, located along Boon Tiong Road (next to Tiong Bahru Plaza), and at Mount Alvernia Hospital.
