You may fall easily in pregnancy

Updated: Apr 24, 2019

If your pregnant self is feeling unstable, it's no wonder..

1 in 4 women may fall in pregnancy and 10% may fall more than once. The danger is that they may be injured during the fall. The unstable gait is due to the change in the center of gravity. This happens at 4-5 months of pregnancy. Sometimes you may just be a bit more clumsy due to weight gain, protruding pregnant bump, or because of the softening of ligaments and joints due to the hormone progesterone.

Your feet increase in size during pregnancy due to water retention. Also, pregnant women tend to fall due to changes in center of gravity and dynamics. Thus, avoid wearing high heels after 5 months of pregnancy.
