Should a pregnant mom attend F1 race? Think twice.

As Singapore prepares for F1 race next week on 5 Oct 2025, many pregnant mothers ask if they should attend the exciting race. Read on before you buy your tickets.

Attending a Formula 1 race during pregnancy may pose some risks, especially for expectant mothers in the late trimester. The main concern is the exposure to high decibel (130-140 db) noise level, which can affect both mother and developing baby. Standing or sitting too long is super tiring too with the heavy belly. Furthermore, the vibrations from high-speed cars and the loud noises could stress or cause discomfort.

The bright lights generate a lot of heat and risk dehydration in crowded, warm environments. The loud noise and bright lights with the crowd can induce syncope (fainting spells) for some mothers too.

There is also a potential risk of accidents or emergency situations in crowded areas, which could be stressful or unsafe during pregnancy. Furthermore, the vibrations from high-speed cars and the loud noises could stress the nervous system or cause discomfort.

Pregnant women should consult their healthcare provider before attending such events and consider precautions such as wearing ear protection, staying hydrated, resting frequently, and avoiding overly crowded or noisy zones. Wear very light too to prevent heat exhaustion. Do take note of exits and medical care facilities for emergency.

When in doubt, watching the race in the comfort of your room/hotel with TV may be the best way to enjoy this exciting event without unnecessary risks.
