What you must know - venous thrombosis in pregnancy
Updated: Oct 10, 2021
Venous thrombosis (blood clot) confers a risk in pregnancy. While the cause may be familial, some patients are more at risk such as obesity, hypertension and autoimmune condition. Caesarean section is another risk factor. While thrombosis can be fatal in the lungs, it is also highly preventable by anti-embolic stockings, calf compressors and/or blood-thinning injections.
